Default 5.9 misses at low rpm

ok guys i've got a serious issue here. recently i had to replace heads valves and such did alot to it while it was apart so i wander if i messed something up or its just another problem all together. heres the issues. the truck starts great even at 11 degrees no less then 3 seconds to start. but at idle and even low rpms while driving it misses and has a lack of power. high rpm the truck runs like a dream smooth as silk. i havent thrown a cel yet but im waiting on it. any ideas where to start?

When you had it apart, did you also do the plenum fix?

I would start looking for vacuum leaks. Did you re-use the intake manifold bolts by chance?

yes did plenum fix even spent two hours cleaning the tb and plenum. and no new bolts. i never reuse bolts that mean that much. i was thinking vaccum too. the first snow i had problems with my 4wd disconnect not getting enough vac to engage

unfortunately, there are MANY opportunities for vacuum leaks there..... the injector o-rings, fistful of vacuum lines.... etc. Go exploring. See what you can find.

my first thought was vacuum leak. if you've got a simple $10 vac gauge you can measure the vac at idle. it should be in the green on the gauge, somewhere like 16-20 on the numbers.

a good way to troubleshoot it is to temporarily remove and cap off all the vac hoses from the intake, and see if it gets any better. if so, then add them back one at a time.

beware you might not have power brakes or transmission shift or 4wd or other problems.
