Default New Plenum, but engine stalls.

Hi all, I installed a Hughes plenum kit yesterday. My truck (99 Ram 5.2l) started and idled fine, after which I had to replace a rusty power steering hose. After replacing the hose I started my truck again, it starts fine but dies after it reaches 1000 rpm. I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running and after a few minutes it will idle fine. It starts and runs fine when warm. I have replaced the TPS 6 mo ago and checked all elec. connections. Any ideas what it could be? No codes.

Thank You,
Dan

Have you driven it since the fix? PCM needs to re-learn idle.

Yea, I drove about 8 miles after I replaced it. How long does it take for the PCM to learn the idle?

Thanks
Dan

Did you clean the TB and the IAC on back of it? The PCM should have at least learned idle by now. Did you also replace the precat o2 and check or have the cat checked?

I cleaned all of it when I had the plenum apart. It started fine this morning and idled so I guess it took awhile to learn the idle. I've never had the cat checked, next project. Thanks for your help.

Don't wait on checking the cat. And what about the o2?

Replaced the 02 sensor 6 months ago. I need to replace my muffler so I'll check the cat then and probably punch it out.

Thanks
Dan
