[quote=slider15004x4;2365221]The 2" block and an add a leaf is common practice with almost all of the lifts for our trucks.

stacking blocks is very unsafe and i would never reccomend it

I don't recommend it either but if you look at almost all the kits besides Skyjacker or ones that have new leaf packs, they all stack blocks. If you can't afford to custom make the lift you are stuck with stacking blocks.

yes very true but i would spend a few extra dollars and just buy a 5" block with a tapered top to help pinion angle, rather than stack a 3" and 2" block

I thought it would be a 5.5" block because my stock block is 3.5" and the only 5.5" block I have seen is two blocks welded together made my Tuff Country I think.

I HAD STACKED BLOCKS ON MY 1996 (from prev owner)!!!

Here is what happens:
1. The blocks shift
2. The Ubolts become loose
3. Your rearend will WOBBLE
4. Your Ujoints will weaken
5. Your driveshaft will drop when your Ujoints fail.
OR
6. Your rearend will separate fro your vehicle when you drive (luckily this one did not happen to me)

Get those stacked blocks OUT OF THERE if you want to keep your rearend attached to your vehicle.

it has all skyjacer in the front and i guess they tryed to piece up the rear but im going to get all new leafs.but i need to firgure out wats equal to the front beacuse it's all 2500 stuff so i need the 1500 stuff in the rear and i know the 1500 lifts measure are diff than the 2500(im guessin that a 1500 6'' inch kit is about the same as the 4''inch 2500 stuff)

2500 springs will give about 2 inches, in and of themselves. (depending on how bad the stockers were....) Measure the block (the additional one...), see if you can find numbers on the add-a-leaf, and track down how much lift it gives. Then, get new springs that give the amount of lift you are looking for. Keep the stock blocks, they have the bump stop on them.
