Well, there is no place for the MAP sensor or the IAC, which will make the engine run funny (aside from the fact that 80MM is way too large).

That is for a 1200 HP application with a stand alone engine management system.

80MM throttle body is like saying "Hey I can replace 8 of my injectors for garden hoses and because there is more fuel, I will have more power."

yeah, you are right. but that does not make up for the fact that it doesn't have the MAP and IAC slots.

Dodgeram07... great point.

As for the "more = less" thing... I suppose my question came from not really knowing how the air and fuel input are metered.

Would I be correct in saying the TB is the "tool" the computer uses to measure how much air it wants to allow in?

If so, then yes, I can see why bigger is not always mean better.

If not... screw it... I'll stick with what works and leave the theory to others for now.

Back in the day when I was into K-jetronic water cooled VW's they had a couple aftermarket throttle bodies that essentially gave the same wide open throttel gains due t same cross sectional area. Thge difference was the weber was a single blade TB but the Neuspeed was a dual speed progressive throttle body. I only tried the neuspeed myself and it was great but reports of users with the weber said it was basically worthless for the street like trying to drive with a light switch , ie all or nothing.

I'd imagine if you could get around the sensor mounting issues this tb would have the same issues as the weber did on the veedubs.

I loved the KJ fuel injection. FAR superior to the 'carbs' they put on them in the mid 70s when they first came out. I came to the conclusion the carbs were originally designed as ashtrays, and were 'adapted' for the new function..... The difference in power, throttle response, and driveability was amazing.

While we are talking about carbs, have you guys ever tried a double pumper in a mild street vehicle after a vac secondary was in there? It was really tricky and not what I expected. So I went back to the vac secondary.
