Even returning a vehicle back to stock uses up one of the three uses. I returned his vehicle back to stock, and also my vehicle back to stock, but it still counts as one of the three uses. I wasnt trying to use it on two vehicles...my buddy was just interested in buying one and wanted to see if it would give him many gains.

Can I send my SCT in to get unlocked, then use the tunes that are already programmed in my tuner? I dont have the ones that were emailed anymore.

 

setting it back to stock dont count thats why its vin locked , i set mine back to stock more than 3 times

 

How have you used yours more than three times? I have installed on my truck, returned to stock...installed on my buddies, returned to stock...then back on mine and returned to stock...thats my three times apparently, even tho its only 2 PCM's and was only ever left on my truck.

I dont see why mine would be vin locked. Its not like I gave it to all my buddies and thought they could leave it on their trucks, while I still had it on mine. It was always returned to stock and only been on 2 PCM's (not at the same time)

That will give me the 3 uses back then? Mine is not vin locked, it just has 0 uses left

yes it is $150 for them to restore it if it is vin locked, however, if it is unlocked with 0 uses i beleive its $60.

when you talked to SCT, did you tell them it was unlocked? there is nothing any SCT dealer, including sean, can do for you. it has to be sent directly to SCT

 

That's kinda stupid that you can only use it 3 times then have to pay to be able to use it again.
It shouldn't have any limits on how many times it can be installed since you can only have it installed on one truck at a time. What if you go through 3 Rams (sell/wreck/trade) you shouldn't have to pay to be able to put it on another one since you already bought the tuner.

 

yea it is a little stupid, but keeps people from letting all their buddies "try er out"

the idea is, as long as you keep it on your truck, i.e. tune it and return it to stock as many times as you like.... just dont switch trucks or you'll lose an unlock

 

Apparently you can only use it on one other vehicle....mine, my buddies, back to mine. And like I said...it never stayed on my buddies truck...if anything, I think it would be a selling point to be able to "let your buddy try it out" and sell them on it also.
