Thumbs down Sct

Is it true that if you use your SCT on 3 vehicles (I installed on mine, then a buddies, then back on mine...so in reality only 2 vehicles) you have to send the phuckin unit into SCT and spend $150 to have them unlock it and then spend another $100 to get tunes put back on if you get a diff truck or want to sell it?

This makes no sense to me....pay $250 (new unit costs me $275) more to make it work on a different truck.... So, I have to wrap $525 up into my SCT to have it work again??

This changed my mind on how much I USED to like SCT.....

I dont know if a Superchips or the other ones require so much BS to reset them if you want to switch vehicles or not....

You have to take a Superchips back to stock before it can be used on another vehicle. But it has canned tunes and only canned tunes.

The SCT can be customized for your truck if you bought that option, or it will come with three tunes based on your truck, like the Superchips...

SCT is the best hands down...

BTW..I have both. Stupidchips on my Ram 2500, and a SCT on my Drag Dakota.

Contact Sean if you haven't already (hemifever@aol.com) and explain the situation (calmly). See what he can do for you.

Blair:

1. You need to return the first vehicle back to stock in order to be able to use it on another vehicle.
2. You can put the tunes on the SCT yourself. Just use a PRINTER USB CABLE and plug in your SCT to your computer. I can email you three CANNED tunes (87,91,93 octane).

Not a big deal. and you don't spend any money. Trying to use it on two vehicles is like pirating music. it is stealing.

Just go back to your buddies vehicle and return his back to stock. Then you just unlocked your own SCT.

I always assumed it was a 1 vehicle only thing. Never knew you could share... even temporary.

I have been trying to decide what I want to do for a first mod. It would be SWEET to try before you buy a tuner. Is there anyone near NE CT that would care to let me try out a basic tune to see?

volson,
I looked at your sig, you do not need new pushrods when doing RRs. so scratch 98 bucks off your list.
