Default Cargo doors stuck

'99 2500 truck both rear doors (cargo doors?)began sticking, requiring some force to pull open. Now both are stuck fast. Pulled door panels off and manually pulled release rods. Top releases work ok and door is free at top. Bottom rods move and I can see the release moving but doors will not budge. Any suggestions on remedy is appreciated.

Thanks,

Barre

While you have them open, hit 'em with the chemical penetrant of your choice. Soak 'em good. Work 'em a few times to make sure you get the chems in there nicely, then hit 'em with some spray white litium grease. See if that helps.

there is a rod with what looks like BB's on it that slides into a metal clip that operates the bottom latch, the rod will slip inside that clip and not operate the latch, retention the clip and push the rod back through it to the propper adjustment

I have the door panels off and the door handles removed. The problem is that I can operate the rod by hand and see the catch move on the bottom latch and the door still will not open. The top latch works fine and releases.

your hinges may be missaligned, i would take a look at them as they may be causing the door to bind at the bottom
