Default 4x4 indicator light

I recently used 4x4 and my indicator light wont shut off after going back to 2wd. The truck does not turn like it is in 4wd, but am wondering if this could cause problems and what could be causing the light to stay on.
Thanks

Either the switch stuck, or, the collar isn't releasing, for whatever reason..... Check and make sure you are getting vacuum to the outboard port on the actuator first. (engine needs to be running....) If you aren't, find the vacuum leak. If you are..... take the switch out of the cad housing (on the opposite end of the actuator), and see if it is just stuck. If it is, try and free it up, (chemical warfare) if you can't free it up, replace it. if it isn't stuck....., there is a problem in the cad somewhere. Time to yank the cover, and see whats going on.

My vaccuum lines are clamped on with metal clamps. If I pull off the clamps and the lines, can I just use zip ties to reconnect the lines? It seems checking the switch might be an easier task. Thoughts?

my cad used to be slow to engage and slow to disengage. i'd have to stop, back up, pull forward, back up.... a couple of times before the collar would slide and the light would go off.

you're not feeling it bind because the t-case has disengaged, front drive shaft is not turning, and the front axle is spinning independently of the rear.

This has been going on for about 50 miles since dissengaging, so I don't think it's "slow".

Yea nothing is binding for me. I used to be able to just back up pull foward back up pull forward or even engage and disengage a few times. Now it just seems like it doesnt turn off.

yea no worries, its not hurting anything.

red line should be getting 17" in 2wd and black line should be getting 17" in 4wd. if thats checks out, its time to open up the cad, line up the shafts and move the collar by hand- see whats holding it up

So today I am going to pull the switch out to check it. While pulling the switch is there going to be a loss of fluid that I should have on hand to replace when replacing the switch or is this a dry job (screw out, check, screw in)?
