i had the motor replaced.."long block" driving it home check engine llight came on.so i took it to a friend with a computer. he hooked it up and it gave a code."interment loss crank".so while i drive it and keep it at the same speed it stutters really bad almost like it has a miss.and i'm having an oil leak coming from the back of the block somewhere up high.i can't really tell.i'm disabled and can't lay on the ground like that any suggestions or help thanks alot
Wonder if the crank sensor was damaged when they put the engine in?
Oil pressure sensor is in back, right in the middle, next to the distributor. Or, could be valve cover gaskets, or even an intake gasket.
i checked all of that its not leaking from there.has to be something in the rear of the block.wish i knew what and where the crank sensor and oil pressure sensor was and what it looks like.been looking online cant really find anything
Here's a pic of the oil sending unit, You will not be able to see it from the front of the motor it's to the left of the dizzy and behing the intake. A real pain to get to. I hope it's not a bad rear main seal for you.
I am going for a long shot here but check the pvc valve and see if it rattles, Maybe just maybe it's pluged and you are building up to much crank case presure and thats makeing the rear main leak. If it does not rattle get the new pvc valve from the dealer only.

i'm pretty sure thats were its leaking from.i was thinking its either that or the o-ring on the dizzy.leaking is coming from some where up high.

Yes thats all you do to check it. As for the miss the crank sensor mite just be getting messed up with the oil being thrown on it. I have seen chev dissy leak but never a dodge, If you can reach behind the dizzy and check for oil.
