No. It doesn't work. 99% of the stuff that is advertised to give you better gas mileage! More power! Are snake oil. They might work for a day or so, then, the computer adjusts to the new conditions, and you are right back where you started. Not to mention, that as soon as you go into closed loop, which is fairly quickly for our trucks..... the PCM basically ignores the IAT sensor. (as that is what I suspect that the chip wants you to install it between, and the PCM.)
You would be better off buying a K&N, or similar air filter. That WILL work all the time.

Thanks for the advise ...The motor has 85k on it just put in in about 3 months ago and changed the Plenum along with a tune up Just because.... Oh ya and those darned motor mounts .. Wile I had it out . I do like the K&N Idea I'm going to look around..
Yes they work, buy 10 to 10x the horsepower gain!!!!!
Whoooooooohooooooooo!!!! My trux0r's going supersonic, and they had to repave the road behind me cuz da rear tirez threw da asphalt into orbit!!!!!!!!!

i get 15 and i have a 318 auto. im light on the gas. what is this plenum everyone is talking about? i have the k&n filter and it did nothing on the gas mileage. i have got 15mpg since 1997 when i bought it. even the new motor i put in it 100000 miles ago gave me 15mpg. when the mileage gets down to 13 i change the plugs and wires and stuff like that. the chip thing i dont do.
I'd do a home brew CAI, or get something like a K&N. An open element filter, while it looks the best, is going to get heat soaked. I bought an Intense Performance CAI for the Ram...I use an AirRaid CAI on my Dakota 4x4.
Cold air is good air
