Default 96 Ram 360 Runs funny and dies

My 96 Dodge will run fine and just randomly it will start dieing and not want to idle it just dies. If I hold the pedal down it will idle where ever I hold it obvisouly but as soon as I let off it dies. If I pull the battery cable and put it on it will fix the problem but with a CEL. Pull the cable again to clear the CEL. It will run fine for months and then just do it again.

Most recent was this morning it started doing it only, it would not start back up sort of like a bad battery conection. So I went and tap the connections and I heard the the dash and buzzers come on, but then I saw the + battery post sizziling. I grabbed the wires and touched the battery nothing was hot and suprisingly cold.

It did start back up and seemed to idle, I was already late for class by this point so I had leave and see whats up after school.

Start by cleaning your battery terminals really well. Did you happen to read the codes when the CEL came on?

No I didn't read it I just cleared it right away by removing the cable. I have gotten a CEL seperate from the dieing issues saying that the system is running to lean. I am guessing that has something to do with my 100% straight pipe.

Or low fuel pressure, or a failing O2 sensor... both of which would give you stalling problems.

Never thought of that, when it happens again I will make sure to get the code read. Thanks
