Default Low gear set for the stroker

Going to be putting a low gear set in the stroker ram in the next six months.

first is roller rockers and pushrods, exhaust, air intake,
swap intake back to the airgap, change cams and off to the dyno for a tune session.

then the low gearset! will act like it has 4.0ish in the rear for first. 2.77 first gear instead of 2.45 second gear is differnt also but I dont remember what it is!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you talking about the transmission? Please fill out your sig with your truck info and type better, because we cannot understand what the hell you are talking about.

I think with a differnet cam I can make up the losses of the air gap. And I think a lot of that is in the tunning not as much just the air gap.

Yes in the transmission.

I dont want to go 4.10's because then I would be screaming on the hiway. With a low gear set I will have the best of both worlds. Thats why chevys pull soo good and are tire chirp ers. they hava somewhere around a 3.0 first where as we have a very lame 2.45. And plus You would have to change gears in both front and rear diffs which would take 4 times as long and be more expensive than a low gearset.

And if you are rebuilding the trans anyway..... That is an interesting plan. Certainly cheaper than rebuilding to stock ratios, and THEN changing diff gears.

Now ya got me thinkin'.......

well... hes already rebuilt the trans w/ performance parts, so thats why im still wondering...

if 4.10's are too low for you, why not go w/ 3.73's or something more suitable for your application?

Okay, you mean the first gear ratio. What trans do you have? 46RE automatic, NV3500 manual, or NV4500 manual?
