ya but you need second gear on a 1 ton truck that you use for hauling scrap. having no second gear would also make the engine have to work harder.

I think they go with the lowest bidder that meets their specifications when the contract is up for current supplier.

i went and did a search for this oil filter and found out that most places use this filter on 318 motors from 1959 to 1974.
a 318 is a 318?

A 318 is a 318. It'll fit, I have one on my truck and have been using that size for a couple years now. Mopar went to a smaller filter to save weight in the 70's gas crisis.
