Default Problem Down Shifting

Hello all i have been reading your forums and it has been very help full so far,
I read the forums it helped me replace the governor sensor and solenoid in my transmission after it stopped shifting out of first. But after I did that it was driving fine for about 15 min as I was testing it then it started something new.
When coming to a a stop it seems like it is not down shifting and if i don't put it in neutral or manually put it in first it will jerk and then stall as well as when i put it in reverse My truck is a 1996 Ram 1500 sport SLT with about 112k miles,
any help is much appreciated. I followed the DIY guide from on here. The fluids are fine I put 5qt of atf-4 it reads good no foam or anything. one friend mentioned maybe a TC not sure.
thanks in advance.
Pete

Does it downshift out of fourth? Or, is it sticking there as well? Might need to also replace the fourth gear/TCC solenoids.

Getting any codes?

That is just an odd one, and under normal circumstances, I would suggest posting in montec's trans thread, but monte has been MIA for a while, and god only knows when/if he is coming back...... I am not an expert, just do a lot of reading, and a fair bit of theory... so.... take that as you will.

That said.... Have you changed the fluid/filter in recent memory? If not, might want to do so, and have a go at adjusting the bands. I wonder if one is just not releasing when it should..... Also might want to take apart the governor pressure sensor, and solenoid, and clean them out good as well.

Another thing to look at, is the TV cable. Make sure it moves freely, and the little lever down on the trans goes all the way back to its stop when you release the throttle.

Have a look, see what ya find. Take it from there.
