Default transfer case failure

What are the signs of a transfer case failure, We repace the transmission, and the problem continues.

I had power to the wheels for a min, and then Gone, engine putting out power, wheels getting none, like the transmission wasn't even there, I let it sit for about 10 15 min, and I could drive again, any Ideas.

Check your transfer case output. See if it is leaking. Also, check your transfer case for fluid. Chances are it is cracked and bone dry.

auto trans fluid +4. Same as your trans. Pull out the fill plug, fill until just below the hole.

Pull off your rear drveshaft extension housing and make sure your snap ring that holds the entire output assembly in place isn't broken. If you don't see a snap ring, destruction is eminent or has occured.
Search "transfer case saver" which should give you info on a bolt-on collar that replaces the snap ring.

my t-case let go on me a couple months ago.....these were my symptoms...

Driving down the street, then all of the sudden, there was grinding, like it was trying to engage 4x4, but it wasnt consistant.....would do it every so often...

Pulled the t-case, separated it, and on the inside, i had teeth from the gears scattered about, and the chain was VERY crooked, and loose.......then i found the snap ring had come apart.
