I would have gotten dimpled and/or slotted, but Rockauto only had drilled and slotted.

I don't think they will be too bad. I don't tow/haul more than 3K lbs max. And that is only when i move (Which is every few years). Other than that, i don't tow anything. And all i tow is my motorcycle and flat 8x5 trailer. But the bed is loaded and fills the cap.

I am not worried about cracking, and I am pretty good at avoiding puddles on a dry day. I also DO NOT take my truck to be washed at drive through/in carwashes. Bad for brake rotors. They heat up, then they get supercooled in the carwash.

ohhhh yea what do ya know... its an '01

im trying to justify a brake upgrade on mine, but w/ ABS being junk i dont see how it would help, as mine locks up w/ only dually wheel cylinders. they'd lock w/ incredible ease with discs in the rear and dual calipers up front

I really don;t care about discs in the rear. It is cool to say, but my truck stops well, it is just the slight vibration. Rotors should fix that. I just hope it is not a binding caliper.

i got napa drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads. about 10k on them and they still are great. better stopping, no fade,no vibrations, and not cracked.

i think alot of the cracking issues is with people who abuse there stuff.

01 with drum is a 00.5 lol. Keep the rears adjusted for what ever the fronts have.

I'm running EBC slotted and dimpled rotors and green stuff brake pads. Then used the higher quality drum pads and both of those made a noticeable difference, but my old ones were worn. OEMs might make the same difference

the pedal is not going in and out, it is more like a feeling that there are spots on the rotor where the pads bite harder.

When i turned my wheels with the truck jacked, I was met with little pad/rotor resistance (the one pad that touches the rotor), then it got a bit tougher to turn, then freed up. SO I am thinking rotors. I forget which side had it more, but one side had it and the other side didn't.

That was before and after i changed pads.
