Default Any ideas on increasing MPG?

Hi,
First post here and really appreciate all the info on this board.

Any ideas for better MPG? Just got a new-to-me '01 1500 v8 magnum. Nice shape and want to try to keep it that way. Not that I expect great mpg, just wondered if there were any ideas I haven't tried before (filters, tires, light foot, etc).

Thanks.
Chris

Best way to get the best MPG is to buy a car and not drive the ram. Seriously, the best you may get is 13-14 mpg depending on the terrain. The highest I've seen on the board is 17 or 18.

Personally, I've had a best of 13.5. Get 8-9 now (if I'm lucky) with plowing season here.

What are you getting now?

Good luck, and others may chip in.

Keep the tires factory and keep everything else stock. Get a vacuum gauge and drive while trying to keep the vacuum at its highest.

I was able to get a documented and certified 65mpg on my last round-trip drive to work. I'm not kidding around on this, and will even make a video to prove it. The mods ran me a little over $500, and was as simple to do as installing a new battery. I bought a used motorcycle.

Little chilly for that kind of behavior around here..... There was a time, LONG ago, that I rode my bike year round..... but, those days are passed, never to return. Just too damn COLD for that.

Well, I didn't say that the mod was without certain side effects. That's the price you pay for economy!

Google hypermiling and take those suggestions.

My vote would be to cut a hole in the floorboard and use your feet.

Always drive downhill, and WITH the wind.
