Default Strange problems

While I am driving my 95 Ram 5.9 Auto 4x4. the Ecu will turn the overdrive off and on in a flickering kind of sense. the check engine light will start to flicker after about 5 minutes of driving under this condition. If i stop and turn the truck off the problem may go away for 10 minutes or for 10 days, just depends what kind of mood it is in. Any info would be appreciated.

I think the guy I got the truck from removed the check valve and run the lines right to a cooler

What does the fluid look like? Level correct? (check in neutral, NOT park) Have you changed the fluid and filter in recent memory? Can you check and see what codes the computer has stored/pending?

Fluid and filter are fine. was changed when i rebuilt the trans 2 months ago. I am thinking this is more of an electrical problem than mechanical, due to the fact the problem is intermitten, and the flickering of the LED on the O/D off push button, simultaneously with the flickering of the check engine light. I will try to get the codes form this thing.

Possibly a ground issue then..... I think there are at least one on the back side of the motor, might wanna have a look. Also check all electrical connections, and harnesses. Wonder if one got to close to a hot exhaust pipe.....
