99 dodge ram front end problems

could the trac bar cause hopping when turning? this problem has once again arised in my ram....

Shouldn't..... What did you do to fix it last time? Sounds more to me like a bad u-joint.

what about the steering stabilizer? should i replace that also

I have the same problem with my 01 dodge ram 4x4 it shakes around 55 mph pretty bad is it the trac bar for me also?

Just throwing this out there. When ever I'd hit a pot hole or bump on the freeway, my rig would shimmy from side to side horribly. It turned out that my ball joints were shot. I replaced those with some XRF ball joints and now it's solid as a rock. Just food for thought.

yea i was thinking the ball joints needed to be replaced and i had a garage tell me they were fine and they looked new, so im assuming its the trac bar

thats definitley the track bar. have your alignment checked after you install the new one.

most likely. have all your ball joints checked as well.

sounds like the death wobble , i had similar i believe genos garage had a tech article about front end alingment specs , that are different from what the shops say is right , changed mine to the new specs and feels like a whole different vehicle ,my guy that does front ends now uses it for all the 2nd generation dodges . i think if i remember it the camber that is the problem

I had the very same issue, some moron put car/light truck tires on my 2500 heavy 3/4 and every time I hit a hole or bump'd a place in the pavement on the interstate the front would shake out of my hand!!!!! I put some BFGs 285-75-16s and its never happened again. Hopes this helps ya out.
