That's one thing I wish my 97 had. That way, when I do the key dance, I get and actual code with digits instead of counting the blinks like I'm reading morris code. That's one step above using smoke signals!!!
NAw they wont, ud have to do an insane amount of rewireing, since they are 2 completly differnt set ups, not to mention the fact 98's and up are set up for OBD2 CEL and earlier models are OBD1
i didnt think that they would but thought i would ask anyways. I just hate not having an rpm gauge on mine its real anoying when you are used to seeing one. (just got this in a trade for a tahoe)

I believe the 96 and 97 Rams have OBDII. I know my 97 is an OBDII set up. It is a half breed OBDII (as JasonW like to refer to it as) but it's OBDII none-the-less.

That has nothing to do with the year, rather with the options that were purchased for it. I'm guessing that instead of an RPM gauge, you have a huge gas gauge?
you can find a speedometer with similar mileage to yours with a rpm gauge at an autowrecker and its plug and play..so go to a nearby autowrecker or go to car-part.com...this is tested to i did it in my 96..
