Default Trouble code

So just got done installing my new hughes intake. Looks great. I started her up and got hit with a check engine light. I checked the codes and it says "Air temp sensor input is below the minimum acceptable voltage or above the maximum acceptable voltage". Would this have something to do with me relocating the sensor from the old intake into my air intake like the instructions suggest? Or would a new sensor fix this. Or can someone just translate that into english for me. Thanks Oh btw anyone live in the kansas area and see all that great weather we had yesterday? Yea that was I had while in my driveway swapping out these intakes.

Check the harness/plug first, but that sensor frequently gets damaged.

Is your alternator charging?

Check/clean your battery terminals first..... then check the wiring at the alternator itself.

Checked the alternator and I had a couple of loose nuts. In my defense it was about 12 degrees yesterday and snowing its butt off when I did it. I had forgot to mention before also my temp gauge doesnt work. All the sensors and thermostat are brand new and connections good.

There are two temp sensors on your truck. One is for the PCM (to the drivers side of the thermostat housing...) and the other, on the other side of the housing, is for the gauge. As I recall, the manifold didn't have a hole for the second sensor??

It does have a hole for both. The one you are talking about is the IAT sensor. There was no hole for that one and has to be relocated to the air intake. Would a heater pipe being too close to it have an effect?

Ok, allow me to rephrase a bit then....... There are two COOLANT temp sensors on your truck, in the locations I specified. Look at your old manifold. On the kegger, the IAT sensor is up on the keg itself, passenger side front. There are also the holes on either side of the thermostat opening for temp sensors.

Yea I have both of those temp sensors on the new manifold. One is a single blade connector on the passenger side and the other is dual blade connector. I will just have to recheck it tomarrow when I have some light.

The single blade connector is the one for the gauge. Try just wiggling the connector on the sensor, and see if that improves its attitude any.
