95 4x4 5.2 backfires??
Hi I just bought a few weeks ago a 95 ram 1500 4x4 w/5.2 auto. It has 133k miles. The guy before me cut off the cat and made it true duels ( when I find a cheap enough one I'm putting the cat back on) but I have no idea what's causing it to cut out/ backfire. It only seems to do it climbing hills and 60%+ throttle. I've read alot about the plenums being bad, could this cause it to do that? I'm planing on putting a air gap on it soon, but just wondering if that is my problem?
No cel, good fuel psi.
Plus. My heater if I'm going uphill or hit the gas switches to defrost then switches back to whatever setting it was on, any clues? Thanks in adv. For any help.

For the vent problem, do a search on "wild vents". Its just a check valve you need to replace. Quick, painless, and easy.
For the misfire..... definitely check the plenum. Also, might wanna inspect your tuneup parts. (plugs/wires/cap/rotor) and see what kind of condition they are in.

Haha, I never thought I'd spend $600 on a intake

I have this really nice, basically brand spanking new, never been installed Weiand Intake for a PONTIAC V-8 (back when they made their own engines.....) that sells for around 500 and some change, and I couldn't even sell it for 200........
Oh well. Just gotta find the right person I guess.

It just pushes on there. Of course, it takes a damn crane to get it back off.......
