Since the '95's are OBD1 they will likely need a custom tune to run optimally after install. Problem is there are very few in existence capable of doing an OBD1 magnum custom tune the right way.

So is it not a good idea to swap it.

EGR is going to be the sticking point. Air Gap has no provision for it, but, I think there are aftermarket kits to install it.... If you don't.... worst thing that happens is you get EGR codes.

You could conceivably get a custom PCM that does not have EGR programmed in, but, thats additional expense..... Finding someone reliable to provide the PCM is also fun..... not sure there are many folks out there in the world that do that trick anymore.

You could get a Mopar M1 intake that has egr provisions and get the Mopar performance PCM. Lots of people say you will lose low end power that will be true if you have a stock motor, but with some other mods to go with the M1 you will make more than the kegger. I don’t care what dyno sheets you see on the web and what they tell you. I really have one and it works great. Also it's very easy to install, no new fuel lines, adapters, nor did i have any clearance problems with my cai.

Ok. I'm really starting to think I might just replace the plenum, My main goal is to get the truck running right,

I called hughes today, and they won't even tell me what the mods are until I buy it, I don't like that at all!

So you are saying the mopar pcm is allows one to run a m1 with an obd1 truck without otherwise retuning, ie remapping fuel curves to maintain proper mixture? and still have proper jetting for both performance and going through the sniffer test here in WA st.? Would the same also be true of mopar pcm with Airgap plus aformentioned support mods on obd1 triuck?

Just what level of mods are we talking in order to not lose low end? Keep in mind I've been told I can't really do things llike re camming to even a mildly different profile without a computer retune. For example would I lose low end if the extent of my planned mods were the m1 + some HS1.7:1 roller rockers, free flowing exhaust and the mopar pcm?

With just exhaust and a 50mm TB I noticed a small loss of low end with the M1, with HS 1.7s and a Mopar PCM I easily have more low end torque than with the kegger. Advanced timing creates more HCs, the stock PCM will be better for emissions, keep the stock one for emissions, it takes all of 2 minutes to swap.
