Default starting troubles

k, I have a quick question. What are some possibilities that would cause my truck to not even turn over, when i turn the key to start position.

The battery reads fine, when in the on position, then when turned to start, nothing at all. I try it 10-15 times, and eventually it catches and fires right up.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hear anything when you turn the key? If not, swap the starter relay with one of the other ones in the PDC. See if that improves its attitude any.

By some very slim chance when it won't do anything at all, but finally catches after 10-15 times, is the clock on your radio reset to 12:00?

I'm having issues starting aswell. When the engine is cold it starts up fine. After the engine has been running for less than an hour and is shut off....it will start up fine, but after about an hour or so....It has to roll over quite a few times....I'm sure one of these times it's just not gonna start...any suggestions?

Did you do as HeyYou suggested? If this did not help you here is test for you. Don’t lay under the truck to do this test just extend the test leads.
Hook up a test light or V/M to the small lead on the starter, try and start the truck, Do you have 12v on the v/m or does the test light; light up? If yes then replace the starter.

alot of the times the posts on the starter solenoid get corroded and wont allow the truck to turn over (has happend to me) just take each wire off the starter one at a time and take some sandpaper and run it over the conectors and the posts be gentle not to rub the threads off. also take off that rubber boot on the positive cable all that does is collect water and corrodes ****

Well, this is kind of a hard one for me to figure out, since it doesn't do it anytime. It took me til researching this morning to figure out what the PDC was, so I haven't done that yet. But the truck hasn't acted up lately either.

You're definitely right about the rubber boot tho on pos. cable. I currently still have it on there, and I've cleaned the corrosion crap out of the red boot twice in the last 2 yrs., and that stuff is still coming back. Any cons to removing the boot?? I assume it was put there for a reason. But it's currently full of the corrosion. Think that could be my starting issue? I've checked the battery cables, and they're tight.

Wife and I bought her a 2000 dodge intrepid recently, and I'm currently in the process of trying to fix her heat, since the sellers lied to us, when we asked about the heat. Ah well tho, $1000 for a very clean intrepid with a strong running 2.7L wasn't a bad deal. Hopefully I'll find time to fix my truck too
