Default Any way to check?

Ive been wondering more and more as my truck gets closer to 175k when my plenum is going to eat it.

Then, a revelation: I bought the truck with ~130k on it already, and the person i bought it from had a dodge tech in his immediate family (his father). Maybe the plenum had already gone and was adequately repaired.

Is there any way to check this theory and put my mind at rest? Short of pulling the intake of course lol

Well, my guess would be that dodge would just replace the gasket, and call it good. You can lower a magnet down the throttle bore holes, and see if it sticks to the pan.... if it does, its still stock.

I haven't seen any TSB's on bolt length, or pan replacement for the magnum engines.... but, I do hear rumors that dodge had an updated gasket, that was thicker than the original. I really don't know how much truth there is to that though.

Place a magnet down into your throttle body and see if it sticks to the pan.If it does,it wasnt repaired correctly, maybe just band aided with a new gasket.
