Default Random Shifting and Stalling

I have a 1995 Dodge Ram Laramie V8.

My problem is that about 50% of the time I come to a stop the engine will just stall out. Sometimes it will let me come to a stop then the RPM's just drop and it stalls.

My second problem is while driving. If I am going from 1-50mph the engine will randomly rev up. Sometimes when I'm just going at a constant 40 mph it will downshift every 30 seconds or so.

Any ideas on what is going on?

What engine is in your truck? Are you getting any CELs thrown at you?

P0155 2/1 02 Sens Heater Failure

Not sure on engine size. All I know is its a v8 Magnum 4x2

On the first problem try cleaning your battery connections really well. I had some trouble with mine stalling and having a irregular RPM pattern. The second problem someone smarter than me will have to answer.

You misunderstand the question. The truck itself either has Cali. emissions or Federal emisions. How many cats do you have?(converters that is)

I'm having a similar problem with my 1998 Ram with the magnum 5.9. About a month ago I replaced the IAC and TPS, cleaned the TB. That fixed the problem for about month. Yesterday during the snowstorm we had, it started acting up again. The idle would fluctuate and bog down with a delay when ever I gave it more throttle and then it would surge. The IAC appears to be operating normally, except during the issue. The iac seem to be opening up more than normal causing a loud sucking sound. When driving the idle will fluctuate about 100 rpm's. Fuel pressure is about 45psi and this is only happening after I've been driving for about 10-15 mins. Which that should place the occurrence in the close loop mode. The issue seems to either be reduced or gone once I bring the truck up above 2500 rpm's.

Failing O2 sensor? Possible vacuum leak?

The O2 sensors are what I'm leaning toward. I did a check for vacuum leaks while on my lunch break and could not find any. The problem is happening after about 5-10 minutes.

edit: I just found a break in the wiring coming from the upstream O2 sensor. I believe that could be the problem. I have to check into it more tomorrow, it just to cold and dark outside to work on it.
