Omg my axles
alright guys i have another question. I havent had the time or money to swap in my new axle yet and now the snow is here. Will 4x4 still work if i am missing one axle? I am not exactly sure what happens when the front gears are turning obviously i dont have the other axle but the front isnt locked so it was never a real 4x4 so does anyone know what would happen if i put it in 4x4, would it help me at all in a tight situation?

You will just hear the broken axle beating the stub shat to a bloody pulp, and neither of the front tires will spin.
Get your axle fixed before you keep driving your truck around for crying out loud. It got you home on limb... but your not supposed to continue driving like that. Do you need a new stub shaft yet? Because if you don't yet, your going to soon as the inner axle will start damaging the ears on the stub.
I once saw a girl (not that all girls don't know how to drive) pull in to the local mud hole with a half ton dodge on 40's. As she got mid way through the hole she got stuck, tried backing up with lots of throttle and the tires turned (to full lock might I add) and for some reason one driver side axle shaft detonated. I'm not quite sure which one it was, because by the time we finally convinced her to take the truck out of 4wd (boy she didn't understand why she needed to do that) she had already completely destroyed both of the shafts at the u joints. She just kept the throttle on with one rear tire spinning and the inner drivers side axle just shredding the hell out of the stub shaft.
For some reason this thread reminds me of that experience.

That's an understatement.
That's more like it.

Technically, those both mean the same thing. Kinda like the glass is half empty... no wait, its half full.
for the most part women are bad drivers and don't like to listen to advise from others. there do tend to be the odd woman that is a good driver. i had a friend who go t-boned by a woman driver and she kept holding the gas and pushing my friends car even after she hit t-boned the car. then you have women like my one sister. she was taught how to drive by my dad in his one ton dodge. she can drive anything extremely good.

OOooooooo, lets hope the women's libbers don't visit this site.
I have seen women that drive better than most men I know. I have seen men that wouldn't know a spark plug from a butt plug, and drive like it is their right, and not a privilege. (drive like they own the road, not the car.....) It's a toss up for which sex is worse behind the wheel. I handed out more violations to men, than to women. (yes, I did the cop thing for a while in the service, waiting for my security clearance to come thru.)
Granted, I never gave a man a ticket for putting on makeup while driving........

just because you gave more men tickets doesn't mean they are bad drivers. it just means they are stupid. women tend to not do stupid stuff like guys do but they do tend to panic and cause accidents. i remember a couple of years ago reading in the paper about this woman who was cut off panicked and stomped on the gas instead of the brake and she hit a bus shelter. lucky for her there was no one in the buss shelter.
Women just do a different caliber of stupid.
Have a read of this article. Rather enlightening, and only one of many.
