Default difference in v10s

I have a 95 3500 with the v10 that I want to swap engines in. I came across a good 96 v10, reasonably priced. What are the differences between the two? I notice most salvage yards are saying 94/95 only will fit in my truck.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thx,

Probably the sensors. 94-95 = OBD1 while 96 up is OBD2. Swapping sensors or the whole manifold may solve that issue. Works for the v8's anyway.

Thanks for the reply. Any more detailed information would be appreciated. I don't want to buy a motor that I won't be able to use.

Thanks to all.

V-10s aren't quite as common as the 8's, so, not quite as much info out there for 'em.

If I understand correctly, then all I would need to do is to swap the sensors over from my 95 engine to the 96 and install it? It should run correctly?

Thx,

I would do coil packs, and ignition module as well. Basically, anything that a wire plugs in to.

yeah i would have to agree... obd1 as you truck is has less sensors and computer controlled stuff... than a obd2 truck i would have to agree with heyyou and just say swap all your sensors a.k.a anything that a plug goes into was a good quote. I am just stating what i know about the v8 and assuming but its a pretty educated guess
