Plugs yes, wires and cap are coming...truck has been sitting about 2 years...inside of cap has white stuff attached to the pins...corrosion maybe..tried to clean it but no avail. #8 plug completely fouled and not firing. Wires are suspect. Idles amazingly well.

Plenum gaskets replaced, intake manifold gaskets replaced. throttle body cleaned.
Never drove truck much until now as he has just got a learners license. Got a new cap, rotor, and wires coming. Idles nice, runs like crap under load. We rebuilt the 45rh as it was pooched when we bought it. #8 plug very fouled...I wonder if it has a bad valve...may need to do a compressor test. Has no error codes in computer.

Gutted cat and new o2 sensor. Also new plugs, wires, and cap.
What is the sensor that is near the distributor screwed into the transmission right at the top, it appears to be broken...crankshaft position sensor?

wrong, truck still has a distributor not coil over plug ignition, if you want you can loosen the dizzy and rotate it advance or retard, but be careful you should really have a timing light. do your tune up make sure your 02 sensors are functioning correctly and check for a plenum leak.
