no, when the clips break and fall out, they don't go back in w/o an lsd rebuild.
most people who find pieces in the bottom of the diff report that the lsd still works.

any GL5 oil, 75W90, 80W90, 85W90, 90W, etc.
plus you need the additive bottle of friction modifier for the lsd. its right beside the gear oil in the store. the real expensive synthetics include the modifier, but i can't see paying that much for oil.

alright, so she is good again!

im an idiot. well kinda. the noise i was hearing was from the dust cover donut thing that goes between the driveshaft U-joint and the back of the pumpkin (or the front actually i guess) somehow it got loose from its spot and would just spin and vibrate and drive me nuts. luckily an easy fix!

i also pulled the dif cover, and changed the oil. it was nasty but everything is there was right as rain. i took some pics, still wondering if i have the stock LSD unit (i wouldnt think so with 209000 mi) ill post the pics, is there anyway to tell if its the stock unit.

anyway no metal shavings or chunks. the gears are good. the sound is gone. im happy again!
