Default brake and abs

My ABS has been on since I bought the truck and today I was driving it and my brake light came one what could be the problem. When I turn the key off and back one the brake light goes away but comes back in a little bit. I have a 95 2500 v8 with 158 thousand on it. Thanks

when my abs and brake light popped up i replace the rear abs sensor, its on top of the rear differential.
when this sensor goes out you lose you speedo and odometer too, along with your torque converter lock-out

His is a 95, so, he has a speed sensor elsewhere in the driveline.

Take a look at one of your front wheels. If you have 4wal, there will be a sensor with a wire, if it ain't there, you have RWAL, and the sensor on the diff is likely the problem.
