Default Throttle Bodies

Hey, I'm new to the forum and have been contacted by a member trying to sell me a 50mm throttle body. I never heard of new throttle bodies only spacers. He is selling it for $80 which seems weird cuz fastman sells his for $200+. Has this ever happened to anyone, is it a scam? Also what kind of performance gain will I see by installing a new one. Whats the difference between 50mm and 52mm. My goal is to improve acceleration and I do a good bit of towing. How long will it take to install and do I need to get a new air intake? I'm that guy who asks too many questions. Thanks

On the fastman, you pay a lot for the name. We have (and have had...) several members doing throttle bodies, manifolds, and sundry for much cheaper. No clue on quality yet....

There is a guy or two here that make them. That name does not sound familiar though.

With a dremel, you too can make 50mm throttle bodies

The plates are 50mm. You only need new plates for a 52mm throttle body. And those can be made with a dremel also.

If Salex007 is the person you are referring to his is a member and his brother is modifying stock ones, they get stock cores and modify them by smoothing them out to increase flow and pretty sure they bore them to be 50mm all the way through vs. 50mm to 48mm like stock, throttle response difference and will help support other mods.

Im not sure how many he has sold but if your worried about it might want to find someone that has bought one to talk to and see what they say
