This, is the add a leaf i have and i love it! its cheap enough and installs in about 30 minutes or so. i got mine from summit, but top gun customz has it at the same price. i paid about 98 shipped to my door from summit. top guns seems to be about 104 shipped to your door. good luck with it.

the frames are all the same, a 2500 is only rated at 8800 lbs this is for a diesel too, the only thing i could see doing is just upping the springs to a heavier set, why not use a smaller plow like a 7ft or 7.5ft blade and if your careful plowing you should never have a problem.

 

the frames are not the same. the 3/4 and 1 ton truck have a beefier and taller frame than a 1/2 ton. i have an 8' plow on my 1/2 ton without an issue. for someone with only 4 post i would think that you should learn a bit before you type.

 

another thing. 3/4 and 1 ton leaf springs are 3" wide where as the 1/2 ton leafs are only 2.5" wide. so the only was you can get the springs beefed up is by installing an aal like i did with mine. again. i have diesel springs up front and have an 8' plow and have no problems at all.

actually After doing thorough reseach the freames of a dodge ram 2500 and 1500 Quad cab short beds are the same at least in 2wd i know 4wd is a little different and that the rear springs are wider

I have been told by numerous people on here that the frames are identical. And after owning both a 1500 and 2500 i concur that there is no noticable difference in the frames. The only difference is suspension, axles, and drivetrain. Seap that 5.2 for a 5.9 and swap your axles and call it good.

 

I just did a similair swap in my half ton. Rear leads will not bolt right in. 2500 leads are 3 inches wide 1500 are 2.5 inches wide. You'd need to change the hangers over also. It'd be easier to move the leaf spring perches on the axle in instead of the entire leaf setup. Gring the hangers off and get the rewelded to match the center pins on your leafs. The front directly bolts in with no problems at all. You can change to 2500 coils in the front but without your plow on your going to have a stiffer ride.
