Default need help with trannys

i was woudering if you can put a 5 speed out of an f150 because i can not find a used 5 speed for a dodge ram 1500 4x4 with a 318 if any body knows if u can do this swap or of any other 5 speeds u can put in a dodge please let me know my 46 re is finely giving out after 198000 miles so i dont see how they are junk

No, one out of a F150 would not work. It won't even bolt up without some adapting (not even sure if you could make an adapter), not to mention the wiring nightmare.

A 5-speed from another Dodge pickup of the same model year may work, but you'd also need the PCM (computer) from that same Dodge.

I saw a web site once that sold adaptor kits. I dont remember fot what trannys tho. I do remember that they were very very pricey. Thats why i didnt save the site. But apperanty it can be done if you have the time and money to throw into it. You can get trannys on thr net rebuilt and shipped for around a grand or so, cheaper and easier imo. Just google the tranny you are looking for and see what comes up.

Would probably spend less rebuilding the auto....... unless you can find a donor truck cheap. (and buy the whole thing.)

ok because ive found dodge 5 speeds at junk yards and i cant buy the whole truck i just wasnt sure if they made conversion kits
