Get narrower 265/75/16 Duratracs. You dont want wide tires on a snow plow.

My truck was a tank this winter with 265/75/16 Wrangler SilentArmours, I couldnt get it stuck. I even slid down my driveway into a ditch. Shoved it into low and out I came. Didnt even have to get out.

i have 285/75/16 duratracs on my 1500 and i couldnt ask for ask for a better tire, even while plowing! the traction is unbelievable!

granted a wider tire tends to float on the snow, where as a skinnier tire digs through the snow and grips better.

I have 265/75/R16 on there now...they are the Michelin LTX M/S all season highway...these tire last FOR EVER. I had them on the Ford Explorer I had before my Dodge as well. They were a great tire on both vehicles. However, now I want something with a more aggressive look. i just measured them today and they still have 6/32 of tread left...thats with well over 60k miles on them. I finally started to notice them slipping up a bit in the snow this winter. So maybe I will wait until next next fall...or i might get impatient and get the duratrac 285/75/R16 sooner than later because i think it will look better.

How hard is it to get the lower gears...haven't done a search on it yet?
