Let me clarify. The line that has the check valve on it has tranny fluid that's LEAVING THE TRANS. That goes to the IN part off your remote filter.

They're engine oil filters.

Well it drove to work just fine today but I'm still gonna change the filter and fluid tomorrow.
I think I installed the filter the wrong way, but only drove 8 miles before I bypassed it.

There is no sensor in the factory cooler, and the only thing that won't work if the fluid is too cold is OD. And like I asked previously... where did you plumb in the aftermarket gauge sensor? And btw, you don't want your tranny running 140 degrees under normal driving in cold temp areas. My gauge starts at 100 and does not get to that unless I'm plowing, then it gets up to 160 or so.

And 1 more thing... If you think you did half the install wrong, then I strongly suggest you edit the DIY before someone reads it and also does it wrong.

You also forgot how to wire up the relay to power the gauge.

Ok new update, the truck is running fine when I first start it and drive. But after about 20 miles when I have to stop at a light, I have to manually shift it to 2nd, let it get up to speed then shift it into drive. And it will drive fine until I have to come to a complete stop. Then I have to repeat the process

as for the diy, its on hold untill i get my shifting issue cleared up. ive never had a trans problem before, just decided to prolong the life of my trans while doing some regular service... and now im s***ing a brick wishing i just left it stock.
