Question Starting out - 1996 5.9 1500

Trying to find some relatively cheap mods to do to it to give it a little more kick. Currently, I have a small Magnum brand chip that doesn't do a whole lot. Also have a K&N filter, but not the whole cold air intake. It has new plugs and wires. The previous owner had straight exhaust that Y'd into duals, but I threw a Thrush Welded muffler on it because my neighbors were gettin angry. Has 315/75/R16's now, getting a lift soon. I would love to have more power, but am on a pretty tight budget. Thanks.

Simple:
Hughes plenum plate fix
high flow cat
50mm throttle body
full tune up
sct tuner
4:56 or 4:88 gears

Notice how nothing on the list is cheap?
Power ain't cheap.

Happy modding.

I was thinking of getting a 52mm throttle body, since I have a friend who can get them relatively cheap. The plenum plate is a definate must though. Thanks.

remove the chip crap and do the crank sensor mod it is free and it does help if done correctly.diy throttle body free if you have the skills and tools.14x3 old school air cleaner 30 bucks.like to see a stock height 1500 with 315's(which is killing performance).got pic's......

you remove the crank sensor and cute/slot the two bolt hole in able to slide the sensor down towards the oil filter.if slotted completely open you increase base timing 4*.its a worth wild free mod if you dont have a tuner.dont do both.like any tuner a 180 stat may be needed
