Default Matching over sized tires

I tried the search but couldnt find anything I understood. So I decided to post exactly what Im thinking and see if you guys think it will work.

I own a 98 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4x4. Im currently running 315/75/16 on some AR Atlas polished wheels. These wheels came with the truck. I want to change the wheels but still keep those big tires. My truck is stock suspension, no leveling kit.

I want to bolt up these new AR Ledge wheels and some Hankook Dyna Pro ATM in the same size tire as mentioned.
Here are the Ledge specs:
size: 16" x 8"
offset: 0
backside: 4.5 (Is this the same as offset?)
bolt pattern:8x165.1

I know the size and bolt pattern are correct since Im running a 8 bolt Dana 60 and 80.

Link to AR Ledge. Third from the left, top row.

So is this gonna work wothout a leveling kit and just rub slightly as usual on the inside wheel housing during sharp turns?

Thanks for all the input ahead of time...
Cheers,
Andy

If the wheels you are currently using are 8" wide and have 4.5" backspacing, then it will be basically the same setup... and if you are clearing them now, you should clear them with the new setup too.

Yes. But thats the thing. I dont know the back space. Maybe I should learn how to measure it but I heard its difficult with a tire mounted on.

So to get it straight to measure backspace. Measure on the inside of the wheel at the mounting pad to the inboard flange. Probably should take a straight edge and lay it across the flange and measure to it. All this is done on the inside of the wheel, correct?
Thanks again.

When you get some miles on the Hankooks, would you post a review?

I am interested in this tire, and am looking for some feedback on them before I invest in a set.

Thanks.

Ive heard good things about it. My entire life Ive ran BF Goodrich AT's. Great tire but they keep increasing the cost on them. My last set were Nitto Terra Grappler's. Altho they looked great, my tire wear was on the fence. Didn't last as long as anticipated. I found the Hankook's for $195.00 delivered. So I may have some mounting and balancing cost on top of that, Im ready to stare at something different.

The Hankook MT's took top honors in four wheelers most recent radial mud tire test. Whooped all the name brands like Mickey's, BFG's, Goodyears etc. And they really took the test seriously too. I was very surprised!

Took my tire off and measured the Atlas. A perfect 4.5" back space. Looks like the ATX Ledge will be bolted on next week wrapped with the Hankook Dyna Pro ATM's!

Thanks guys.
