I'm a little late into this one, but I've been up north. I'm going to have to agree with Big Red on this one. I know normally his way is always the top notch way to do things, that a lot of people don't have to money to do it, and need a cheaper alternative that is still decent, but in this case $100 for a 9" HID is a good price, I wish I would have found them before I bought mine. Don't get me wrong, I love how mine perform, but HID would be even better. I paid $110 for each pair of 6" 100w KC Daylighters from Summit, and KC come with a 26 year warranty.
also,
his point...how many times are you going have have to spend $20 to replace the halogen bulb before you would have to replace an HID? not to mention as he mentioned the performance difference

I don't fill my tank because the bank won't loan me that much money.
The inexpensive lights work just as well in the 'real' world, for their INTENDED PURPOSE. 99.99% of us aren't racing.
But anyway....... Of course you are always right. Spend HUGE piles of cash. After all, it's only money. Everyone knows everyone has a printing press in the basement, right?
I'm out.
