Kragen HID's. 9" spotlights. $99 each. Dirt cheap lamps that work well. I know tons of people who have them. Myself included.

Harbor Freight. $99 for one light isn't cheap, especially not dirt cheap. You could hook up some halogen shop lights to a power inverter for that price.

And I'd go with driving lights, for driving use. With spotlights you'll need more of them to get decent coverage, and I expect that mounted on a brushguard you'd rather have driving lights.

If you want cheap generic lights for your brush guard head to your nearest Wally world.

The last I looked the 6 inch round assemblies were 25.99 each. Might be higher now. They come with 100 watt bulbs which can be changed to silver stars or cyberwhites.
Don't scrimp on the wiring. I used a KC kit.
While these lights aren't meant for thundering through the desert at 100 mph, they will get the job done at much saner speeds.

I have a pair of generic driving lights mounted lower on my bar. Again Wally world + cyberwhites. Love 'em!

Yes, yes it is cheap. Good quality lamps that last are not cheap. The crap from walmart and harbor rape is trash. The Hella 4k HID's I've run in the past are almost 600 each. That's the average cost for a high quality lamp.
