Torque Management & SCT
Rocker arms. A simple tune up at NAPA with Belden wires, NGK plugs, and a brass cap and rotor will cost you around $60-$70. You'll never notice the difference between the two.
SCT is a company which makes gizmo's capable of writing to your PCM.. with it a db table can be altered, such as fuel trim.. advance/retard timing.. reduce or eliminate things like TM.. various other things.. but you need to know the 'programmer' is just that, its a hardware device- the device you use to load a tune.. the tune itself is another part of the mix all together.. You will need someone to engineer your software specific to your engine/build.. THAT, is where things get tricky.
SCT, I'm sure offers good tunes.. I bet there are a few other 'tune scripting' guys around too, that do a good job- especially where a dyno and software monitoring is involved in their service.. but now we're talking some big bucks..
Sean (aka HemiFever) is an independent SCT licensed programmer (he writes the scripts, or uses another software application to alter scripts based on user input).. He knows these engines pretty dang good.. His 'canned' tunes will stack up against a lot of the local guys w/ dyno's and real time sensor/PCM monitoring applications- and it's because of experience with these engines/builds..
you can buy an SCT from a lot of places.. but that tune is only as good as the person writing the tune.. do yourself a favor and drop the extra $15 and go with HemiFever..
FYI: I tinker with programming, and thought this would be a good way to keep me busy in a profitable hobby.. It would cost me somewhere in the neighborhood of $6500 to get into the business- which isn't the problem.. the problem is the learning curve needed to be able to produce a good product.. HemiFever is highly regarded here and MANY other places as THE man when it comes to the gap between professional custom tunes ($1k+) and the gawd awful stock tune.. My conclusion: HemiFever is pretty much the best around and competing with him is foolish, and would leave me with a ton of merchandise and no customer base- not to mention all the refunding I would have to do as folks figured out my product ($15 cheaper than Hemi) is much more inferior than that.
Is there anything else that is needed along with the SCT? The description says it works with advantage III custom tuning software package. Do I need to but the software package to go along with the tuner?
Good information by the way on the tuner. Thanks.

HemiFever will supply all you need...
IF, in the future you want to make some major changes to your engine, such as a cam- bore it, or some such- you can use a regular printer cable to slave the tuner to a computer and load a new tune..
SCT has an application available free from their website that makes loading, naming, saving, storing a tune just like transferring a file from a thumb drive to a computer and vice versa..
I currently have five tunes on my computer.. four on the tuner (87, 91, 93 and original tune)- and a tune Sean wrote me to trim my injectors down.. If you get the $375 version, you can get unlimited tunes.. I don't rec you do that.. I rec you get the $265 deal, and just upgrade it (another $100) if you find you need it in the future.. I doubt you'll find anyone else who will offer you that deal, btw.

Do you know what the price is on these? That site doesn't give the price.
One more thing: What mod would you purchase if you could only buy one -- Tuner or Rocker Arms? I'm going to get one or the other right now.
