I use mineral spirits first, flowing it in both directions, until it comes out squeaky clean. Then I run some power steering fluid thru, also in both directions, to clear out the mineral spirits.

I ran a quart of ps fluid through to clean out the system - looked fine. Changed the box - it is good again, but I did have a hell of a time getting the pitman arm off. RedHead steering gears rock.
