Default long box on short box frame?

hey guys, i own a 1996 1500 4x2 ext cab short box, with the V8 5.9L. i recently got some pretty bad damage to the driver side, taillight, tailgate, rear bumper and the box side. I took my truck to a body shop where the appraiser told me it would be over $2000 to repair the existing box side and everything else. He then told me he will have a look into finding a replacement box inc tailgate and lights. i was searching on kijiji and came across a 1994 long box 1500 that was totaled from the front. i was wondering if there was anyway i can use that box on my truck. i get the feeling the answer is going to be a no, but i wanted to check it out first. once again that's putting a 1994 single cab long box onto a 1996 ext cab short box frame. thanks

None of the bolts would line up, not to mention the 8' box would hang way far out compared to the frame and the tires would rub on the box. Nope, wouldn't work.

maybe if you chopped 2 feet out between the cab and rear wheels then NO.
just look in the auto parts section of your local craigslist.com you should be able to find what you need.

Should fit if you put a standard cab on it.

Even that won't work. The frames are different.
