Default Still cruisin around with the rejected sticker

I cant for life of me get this truck to pass inspection. first it was throwing a code for the o2 sensors. replaced the o2 sensor that needed fixin. then it threw codes for misfiring cylinders replaced all of my spark plugs they were all like twenty thousandths over. Those codes went away. now i got a p0443 when i do the ignition code check and when i put it on the reader it will say no codes pending p0443. I took it to my mechanic and he erased the code then told me to go drive around to set my readiness monitors. I put like 60 miles on my truck and there was still three incompletes. it says evap purge valve c is this something i can just take off and replace like my o2 sensor or what? what would you say my next step should be?

I've been having this issue with my O2S I/M not completing the test. Dodge says they can fix it for $89.00, but I think pulling the negative battery terminal and turning on the headlights should reset it fully and then just drive around more. I know I've put almost 250 miles on my truck and all the other sensors ran their test within 100 miles.

If you don't do a full "OBDII drive cycle" it can take as many as 200 miles to get to readiness. What I do is to take the old woman to a favored restaurant that's 92 miles away.

Nah, we take the drive to get the PCM happy, get out of town for a while, and incidentally eat lunch while we're out. Other times we light out just to get out of town for a while and eat lunch before turning around to go back home.

Take a look at "RUNNING AN OBDII DRIVE CYCLE" about halfway down this page.

for evap, I think you are supposed to fill up the tank and drive around and maintain speeds like 55 / 35 for a while.

For o2 sensors... you should just need to drive around in closed loop for a little bit. That is usually one of the first tests to complete when I check.

Back to the evap, my moms car will not do an evap test to save its life lol. However i forget the year split... It is something like 2000+ can have one incomplete monitor, and older than that, can have two incompletes for Pennsylvania. Check with your mechanic for your state specifics.

The OBDII drive cycle begins with a cold start (coolant temperature below 122 degrees F and the coolant and air temperature sensors within 11 degrees of one another).
NOTE: The ignition key must not be on prior to the cold start otherwise the heated oxygen sensor diagnostic may not run.
1. As soon as the engine starts, idle the engine in drive for two and a half minutes with the A/C and rear defrost on. OBDII checks oxygen sensor heater circuits, air pump and EVAP purge.
2. Turn the A/C and rear defrost off, and accelerate to 55 mph at half throttle. OBDII checks for ignition misfire, fuel trim and canister purge.
3. Hold at a steady state speed of 55 mph for three minutes.
OBDII monitors EGR, air pump, O2 sensors and canister purge.
4. Decelerate (coast down) to 20 mph without braking or depressing the clutch. OBDII checks EGR and purge functions.
5. Accelerate back to 55 to 60 mph at half throttle. OBDII checks misfire, fuel trim and purge again.
6. Hold at a steady speed of 55 to 60 mph for five minutes.
OBDII monitors catalytic converter efficiency, misfire, EGR, fuel trim, oxygen sensors and purge functions.
7. Decelerate (coast down) to a stop without braking. OBDII makes a final check of EGR and canister purge.

------------------------------

Ok now how the hell am i supposed to accelerate to 55 mph right off a start up. I would have to leave my house and drive somewhere then be able to go up to 55 mph for three min then by that time my engine temp would be no where near within 11 degrees of the outside temp.

OBD2 drive cycles blow.
