Default fender flare opinions

I recently put a 3" lift, new rims, and 285/75 16's on my truck

After doing that, finding I didn't enough math before buying everything, I found that the tires stick out a little less then 3". The mud on the truck is just from driving a little less then a mile down a dirt road (now muddy) at about 10-15 mph.
So now I'm looking around at fender flares. Does anyone here have any on there truck? any pics? I probably need pocket style so they cover at least 3" I was looking at bushwacker knockoffs for 290 on ebay

But I'm not sure about them...

What your opinion?

I think you should get the OE style, the Pocket Style would stick out to far. Those 285s dont stick far enough out, and the Pocket Style flares would look weird.

Nice truck. I've never seen a totally blacked out 2nd gen before, and I like it.

Actually, I measured the distance today and it was just a little under 3" sticking out. Because I'm going from a 16x7 rim with 5" backspace and 265 tires, to 16x8 rims with 4.5" backspace and 285 tries.
And thanks for the comment, I've seen a couple with the sport pkg. so they are almost all blacked out stock...but never with a 5.2 and all chrome stock.

Really? They dont look that far out in the picture. It would look proportionate then.

Really, I shouldn't say I measured them, I just got my drivers permit a week ago and I've been working on the truck at my grandparents house. About 1 1/2 hours away. So today my grandfather measured them. They didn't look that far out to me either. But he said he took a piece of cardboard and placed it against the wheel well and on the tire and measured the showing tire. To me when I looked at it, it looked about 2" but I could have been wrong, but so could he...I still got a couple weeks until I'll be driving it, so next time I'm there I'll measure it myself and see.

But, Im still open to other's opinions.

I personally prefer the look of the pocket style myself. I've been looking at these on ebay, slightly cheaper

Anyone know anything about these?

PS. Unrelated note, i'm in Florida for spring break, but I will try to check the forum at least a few more times while i'm down here

They're all going to be about the same no matter how much you spend really. They're just stick on plastic. If you don't care about looks, the $100 solution is fine. If you want it to look OEM, fiberglass fenders are the way to go.
