If you have actually read 3 hours worth of posts, you will find the stock champion plugs are usually recommended. Some other plugs work for some, but not that well for others. ymmv.

There's a thread dedicated to spark plugs in the FAQ section as well.

Standard copper plugs seem to work just fine.

OK, just read that, so there are no real conclusions, just a lot of opinions. I guess, even though I've owned several Dodge and Jeep vehicles with Magnums, there still is consensus of definitive info on plugs for them. Surprising since with GM stuff there are always several "can't miss" combos for a particular engine and application. If anyone has anymore info, I'll read that, too. Thanks!

The only way you will get real conclusions is to try some out for yourself. Since this is a public forum of shadetree mechanics, everything posted here is going to be more or less opinion. For me, I know my truck probably runs smoother on the stock champion copper plugs, but I run the Autolite 3923 copper plug anyway to help with pinging due to things I have going on that you probably don't.

There is not going to be any measureable mpg gain/loss from using different plugs really, not on these trucks anyway. Any plug manufacturer that touts mpg gains is just trying to sell you plugs is all. On these trucks, it won't make a difference as long as you are using a good old fashion copper plug of some sort. I've hear the platinum plugs, and some of the other fancier plugs you can buy today are actually worse in these engines then the old copper ones. If you want conclusions though, buy some and try them out for yourself. That is the only conclusion you should be concerned with.

Thanks for all the info, I wasn't complaining, just observing the facts. There are opinions on everything in the world and I expected different ones. Just that on most combos, if you ask that question, out of 10 answers half or more will like the same plug. I was just surprised at the range and opinion on these engines. Having built and raced go karts, SCCA Firebirds and a twin 540 c.i. big block Chevy powered Donzi for many years, i understand you have to find what works best for your situation, I was just looking for a starting point. Think I'll go with the old Champs and be good with it. Do I dare ask about wires, rotor and cap? LOL

Get a good brass terminal cap, and matching rotor. Wires? Just go for good quality.
