Default cruise control acting funny

so when im on the freeway and i set my cruise it will automatically speed up 5-10 miles an hour then it'll drop 5-10 below what i set it and kick off. idk if its related but occasionally my speedo will jump around when im maintaining speed. if im doing 60 it'll jump around 50-80. like i said idk if its relevant but it sounds to me like it would be. thanks in advance.

SOunds like a small vacuum leak somewhere. That's typically where cruise control issues stem from. Or a VSS. I didn't quite read the entire thing the first time through.

Sounds like a flaky VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor), which is also known as a Rear Wheel Speed Sensor.

on the 95, I think VSS is actually in the trans, or possibly the output housing of the T-case.
