and as far as TheBigRedOne is concerned, he's on Post Approval for right now, which means his posts must be approved by one of the 2nd Gen moderators before they show up.
Yes, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but he's broken rules numerous times, not to mention that he appears to not only have bought his Ram from Viper23, but also bought his IP address. The one when he registered was also the last one Viper23 logged in with.
The 2nd Gen mods picked up on that pretty much since day one, but were going to let it slide if he would just behave himself. Obviously, once an a$$, always an a$$...

edit: well sh*t, dhvaughan beat me to the receiver hitch idea... LOL...
Believe me I understand everyone is entitled to an opinion. But the way he comes across really isnt the way you should come across you know? But thats people for you, and IDK why hes trying to pull a fast one like that. It never works because I tried that back in my "ricer" days haha...

But I just remember, a dodge I was looking at buying had a "hidden" winch like the power wagons. I dont know how he did it probably the receiver hitch and what not. But Im definitely going to look into all this. I may go price around and see what shops can do and what not. ALthough Id like to be able to do this my self but I gotta learn a few things before that haha.

That's actually not bad, I forget what the factory rear hitch was on my 2nd Gen, but the early 3rd Gen 1500s (2002 and pre-11/02 built '03s) were only 10k. Later they became 12k lbs.

I have the Warn front receiver hitch on my Grand Cherokee and it's rated for 9k rolling load weight. I would have to assume that the Warn front mount for a Ram would be higher since the Grand Cherokee has a Unibody frame...

He is saying that when bigredone registered, his IP was the same as Viper32, who was banned. They are saying bigred is Viper32. Viper32 was an ***, and was banned; bigred is too and is on his way to be hit with the ban hammer.

You are confusing IP Address with MAC Address. Mac Addresses are tied directly to your hardware whether it be a laptop or desktop and even networking gear such as servers. Sort of a piece of hardware's Social Security Number. IP addresses can be manipulated in several different ways and for lots of different reasons. You can even mask your IP address rather easily, but you have to really be sketching out to have a need for that.

Interesting idea this wench...err winch behind the bumper thing.

Actually had a quote done on that back when I lived in Arizona, the fab guy claimed he'd have to move my bumper out about an inch, and at the time function was prevailing over form for the truck...btw that was for a 12k wen...winch

The only thing about recievers I didn't and haven't liked is the amount of entrance/attack angle they take away from your vehicle. Technicly speaking you'd have to add about 4-5 inches of lift to restore that angle,, no biggie if you want to add it, but taller trucks aren't as good in certain situations.

I watched a guy back at an "average joe" 4x4 contest destroy a 9.5 warn on a reciever by "ramming" it into a whooptie do with his '03 1500.

As far as thebigredone, or whoever he is, since he can't defend himself due to post approval, I won't insult him. I'd put him on my ignore list weeks ago and only deal with his caliphony attitude when I have to. If more people used the "ignore feature" when guys like him slither out of thier holes, eventually they slither back to wherever they come from.

Oh yeah, you lose a good bit of angle of approach, a big concern for a serious off-roader with a non-lifted truck. Mine is really hampered with the roller fairlead and 130 watt lights mounted out front of, but my Grand Cherokee is my daily driver and the winch was a "hand-me-down" when I stepped into an almost too good to be true deal on the one that is currently on my Ram.

The winch and cradle live in the back of the Jeep and only gets put on when I use the Jeep to go fishing or camping. Hog/deer hunting/etc. is all done out of the truck anyway.

A nice thing about having a front receiver hitch is that you can put anything on the front of the vehicle that you can weld a 2" square pipe to. I made my own light bar for when the winch is not on and am currently working on welding up a rod/tackle holder for surf fishing.

What I think is cool about the reciever deal is you can also move the wench back to the rear and mount it in your rear reciever.

Sometimes it is easier to pull yourself back off a problem than over or through it, so you can try again with a different approach

True 'dat. I haven't done it on the Jeep, but I've run 2 gauge to the rear of my truck and have quick connects zip tied out of sight.

I haven't done it yet, but I can have "fore and aft" winches on my truck at the same time, LOL...
