how hard is the nv3500 to rebuild

Default how hard is the nv3500 to rebuild

well i bought a truck for the tranny but it only has 1,2 nothing else but the tranny only has 10,000 miles on it and i was thinking about rebuilding it myself to save some cash but ive heard they are a pain to rebuild so if please help me out thanks

The previous thread on this topic wasn't good enough?

As stated previously.... probably a shift rail problem. And yes, they are a pain to rebuild. Just find a used NV4500, and put that in instead.

i would if i had the extra money and they didnt really stat how much of a pain they are to rebuild im putting the 3500 in becasue i bought the whole truck cheap

now you know why.

If it isn't a time sensitive issue, rip it apart, and see what you think. Besides, you are going to need to know what's going on in there to order parts anyway.

I would still look for the NV4500, and if the parts you are going to need come close to the cost of the meaner trans....... go with the meaner trans.
