95 2500 dies at idle
i have a 95 2500 with a 360 in it, i just purchased the truck. when sitting at idle the truck will sputter and fall on its face, eventually resulting in the truck dieing. if i hold the rpms up it will run ok, with a little misfire. when put in gear the truck instantaniously dies, any ideas on what this could be? any helps appreciated. thanks alot

Yank the throttle body, clean it really well, inside and out, paying particular attention to the IAC passage, and the IAC motor itself. (on the back of the TB). Pick up a new gasket before you start.... (for the TB) they are like 2 bucks at advance.....
Don't move the pintle on the IAC, and disconnect the battery while you are playing with it all.
Since you have a miss, I am going to guess that is another problem altogether. While you have your TB off, take a good close look into the manifold. Flashlight and mirror work well for this..... see oil pooling anywhere? Your plenum is blown. (standard failure point on these trucks.) If that is indeed the case, then your miss is probably due to oil fouled plugs. Do a tune up. Cap, Rotor, wires, plugs. (Fix the plenum too.....)
